Project Description

Junior parkrun is a series of 2k events for children aged between 4 and 14.

They are held in areas of open space around the UK and are open to all, free, and are safe and easy to take part in.

Registered parkrunners do not need to register separately for the junior events. However, if you are not already registered with parkrun you need to do so before turning up  https://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/

Parkrun aims to have an event in every community that wants one, and in our area we are lucky to have a lady called Katie who has that mission in mind! The new junior parkrun event will be based at the Deeside Ramblers Hockey Club in Tiverton and will be opening as soon as Katie can make it happen !

The development of this parkrun fits very neatly with at least two of the George Heath Foundations core objectives:

  • To advance amateur sport for the public benefit, in particular but not exclusively by providing equipment and facilities for the playing of sport;
  • To assist any organisation whose aims include advancing the education of persons under the age of 25 years by developing their mental, physical and moral capabilities through leisure time activities

We look forward to seeing you at the Tiverton junior parkrun!
