Project Description

Tarporley Karting Team (TKT) are a not-for-profit sports team that provides opportunities for children between the ages of 8-18 years old to get involved in grass roots motorsports. They are based in Tarporley and compete within the NatSKA Schools Karting Association.

Many of the drivers develop a real passion for motorsport and go on to compete in higher level karting championships, with some turning their attention to becoming mechanics, engineers, paramedics, doctors and even a British Touring Car driver! With the amount of equipment that the team now owns, they have a logistical headache trying to get karts to and from race meetings. This forms one of the main barriers to kids getting involved in karting – a sport that George loved – racing himself from the age of 10 to 17, and later mechanicking and mentoring younger drivers. We know that he would be fully behind this allocation to try to resolve these barriers to getting “kids in karts”
