Sunday 10th March saw a very intrepid gang of determined people face the elements and the six and a quarter mile (10k) run around Chester….
…the weather was definitely NOT kind at the start…it was raining….and a very cold wind was blowing….enough to make lesser mortals stay at home tucked up in bed.
At the start of the event, The George Heath Foundation had 29 runners taking on the course (including 4 of our trustees), all entry fees having been sponsored by the amazing John Gartland of Cleaning for Causes. Not only had John covered the entry fees….he had also arranged a “running club” to operate every week to get everyone up to the distance. We are so very grateful to John, and all of the runners who took part:
Pam Hibbs; Stacey Condliffe; Kate Chorlton; Wendy Newnham; Carly McKay; Amy O’Neill; Leah Knowles; Dilys Knowles; Chloe Evans; Millie Evans; Caroline Evans; Kris Fitzsimmons; Lindsay Carrington; Rachel Meredith; Becky Richardson; Richard Johnson; Debbie White; Kelly Pinches; Declan Roche; Robbie Plank; Fiona Cheers; Anthea Jackson; Alison Gibson; Emily Smith; Molly Smith; Anna Smith; Melanie Jenkins; Gaynor Heath and John Gartland.
The course was tough….but everyone got back to Town Hall Square before the roads were re-opened….RESULT!
We all earned those drinks in Alexanders!
An absolutely incredible £6726 was raised for The George Heath Foundation – thank you so much to everyone who ran for the Foundation – and to all those supporters who came out to cheer us on!
